Eat and be merry this Christmas with your friend bubble… inside an actual bubble!

Festive celebrations are here.

The Christmas spirit is approaching and while it might not be like any other festivities we’ve had before; we can still celebrate in safe ways even if it’s not around the fire.

So, grab your winter coat and a bobble hat, because it’s time to get social outside.

Thanks to the brilliant creative minds at Skylight, igloo bubbles have arrived to ensure us Brits can still have a mulled wine or spiced cider with our pals as we say farewell to 2020.

The rooftop igloos are essentially outdoor capsules that allow the public to mix while keeping friend and family bubbles protected.

Based in London’s Wapping, the terraces have been transformed into a winter wonderland from October to January 31, so there is plenty of time to book your slot.

The ‘igloo-bubbles’ are designed to keep out the cold and keep people separated as they enjoy the stunning views and unique atmosphere of the rooftop, all with a drink in hand.

Each igloo allows groups of up to six people inside to enjoy delicious cocktails, sharing platters and street food.

While the plunging temperatures might put you off, rest assured the venue also have outdoor heated tables.

Under the current Tier 2 restrictions in the capital, the igloos are safe for meeting with other households so you can switch up the routine park trips you might be tiring of now.

For maximum safety, each igloo has multiple air hatches which can be opened, making it the ultimate airy option for socialising with people from outside your household.

The igloos range from £36 to £90 for standard igloos and £60 to £120 for the premium mezzanine level; this includes a three-hour booking, six welcome drinks (canned lager, house wine or mulled wine/cider) and table service throughout.

For those who’ve been saving pennies not having to commute during lockdown, welcome drinks can be upgraded to a bottle of champers for an additional £50.

To continue the theme of honouring social distancing, table service is provided to each pod to limit visitors mingling unnecessarily at the bar.

Not only will you be able to kick back and toast a bevvy in a social setting, if you’re feeling brave, there’s also the option of getting your skates on to hit the ice-rink.
