Stressed out pooch? Help clingy dogs relax with zen playlist designed for pets

It’s not just us humans feeling the impact of quarantine, pets across the globe are being impacted too.

Over the last three months, animals have become so used to their owners’ presence 24/7, that experts predict a rise in stressed-out pooches when people return to work.

Many dogs have also become a lot needier, with one in five Brits saying their pets have become more clingy when they leave the room.

But, thanks to a new initiative from Frontline (pet flea and tick treatment experts) and Spotify, a new playlist for dogs has been launched to ease them out of lockdown.

The music has been specifically chosen to help with separation anxiety to prevent the aftermath of the coronavirus taking its toll on our pets’ mental health.

If your dog hasn’t grooved to Elvis Presley’s Hound Dog or Radiohead’s Karma Police, things are about to get real because your canine is set to be one zen guy or gal.

The wellbeing playlist also boasts tracks from Pink Floyd (Wish You Were Here), The Shangri-Las (Leader Of The Pack), and INXS (Never Tear Us Apart).

Boasting five hours of tracks, the playlist is designed specifically to be played while owners are out the house as it features affirmations in-between every song so pets will hear: “You’re a good boy!”, “Did you enjoy that song?”, and “Shall we listen some more?”

And here’s us thinking life couldn’t get much stranger…

Frontline spokesman Geoffrey Guyot said: “As lockdown eases, we will start going back to our usual activities such as going back to work.

“Unfortunately, this means many dogs will be left alone at home, which they might find stressful after spending so much time with their owners.

“Many of us listen to music to unwind and relax and we wanted to extend those benefits to dogs too with our very own Spotify playlist.”

If it gets pup’s tail wagging again, then we’re game.
